Italy's Alessia Nobilio way out in front at world junior girls golf championship

OTTAWA — Italy's Alessia Nobilio will carry a seven-shot lead into the final round of the world junior girls golf championship.

Nobilio, ranked 22nd in the world amateur rankings, shot a 3-under 69 on Thursday in the third round to move to 15 under for the tournament at Camelot Golf and Country Club.

Zoe Kampos of the United States and Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand are tied for second at 8 under.

Top Canadian Celeste Dao of Notre-Dame-de-l'Ile-Perrot, Que., jumped into a tie for fifth after shooting 68 on Thursday. She's at 4 under overall.

Vancouver's Tiffany Kong is tied for eighth at 1 under after carding a 66 in the third round.

In the team competition, Italy (16 under) is one shot ahead of the United States for top spot. Canada One is fourth at 6 under.
