70-year-old man airlifted to hospital after being trapped under tractor near Kars

The man was airlifted to hospital in Kemptville and suffered a leg fracture.

A 70-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after being trapped underneath a tractor near Kars, Tuesday afternoon.

Ottawa Fire crews were called just after 4:00 p.m. after the man was trapped under the tractor at 6792 Second Line Road South.

The tractor had left the road and came to rest 15 meters off the road in a brush area.

The driver was conscious with his left foot trapped around a wheel axil.

Fire fighters stabilized the vehicle and used hydraulic tools to extricate the patient.

He was treated by Ottawa paramedics and transported to hospital in Kemptville via helicopter.
