Body found in Pembroke identified as missing teen

Myrah Rogers-Goersh, 17, is the second young person found deceased in the area in the past two weeks.

Police have identified the body located in Pembroke on Saturday as missing 17-year-old Myrah Rogers-Goersh.

The teen had been reported missing on June 20. 

Rogers-Goersh is the second young person found deceased in the area in the past two weeks. 

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says foul play is not suspected. 

Police are continuing to investigate and say there is no risk to the public. 

On June 17, the Upper Valley OPP responded to a report of a body being located offshore from Mountainview Drive off Rankin Street shortly before 11 a.m. 

Police identified that body as Tyson Yakabuskie,17, who had been reported missing in Pembroke in October 2019. 

The investigation has found no link between the two deaths.
