Canada Herb is recalling its red chillies due to possible salmonella contamination.
The packages were sold in Ontario, and may have also been sold in bulk or in smaller packages with or without a label.
Consumers are advised to not eat the red chillies product, as it may cause illness.
Salmonella can cause short-term problems like fever, headache, vomiting, naseua, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
Long-term complications from Salmonella can cause severe arthritis.
Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the Canada Herb red chillies.
The recalled product should either be thrown out, or returned to the store where it was purchased.
