Bitterly-cold temperatures and windchill led authorities in Renfrew County to cancel all school buses.

School buses were cancelled, Friday, to all English-language schools in Renfrew County but schools remained open.

All school buses continued to run across the rest of Ottawa and the Valley.

Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning for most of Ontario, Friday. Bitterly cold wind chills near -35 were expected early Friday morning, as well as Friday night into Saturday morning.

Forecasters reccommended keeping emergency supplies in your vehicle, such as extra blankets and jumper cables, keeping pets indoors and for outdoor workers to take regularly-scheduled breaks to warm up.

The bitter cold is expected to ease and temperatures to become more mild, Saturday afternoon.
