The second annual Memorial Ride to Ottawa arrives in the city Friday.
A group of firefighters from Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa left Toronto Fire Hall 243 on Thursday, and after close to 500km of cycling, and are set to arrive at the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial at Lebreton Flats.
The goal is to raise $10,000 for the Canadian Firefighters Memorial, a foundation created to honour and remember firefighters who have been killed in the line of duty.
There will also be two ceremonies to honour fallen firefighters.
The first is being held at Ottawa City Hall at 11:45 a.m. Friday -- at the Firefighters Monument in Festival Plaza.
On Sunday, Canadian firefighters will be recognized in a ceremony at the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial at 10:30 a.m.
