Impending snow storm already causing cancellations

Blowing snow is making its way across the province and will hit Ottawa just in time for the afternoon rush hour on Tuesday. 

The impending storm has caused bus cancellations. 

School buses have been cancelled in Renfrew County, for the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and the Upper Canada District School Board. 

As well for the Consortium de l'Est and all french school boards in Eastern Ontario, except Ottawa.  

Schools and school board offices have been closed for students in the Upper Canada District School board and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario. 

In Ottawa, school buses are running. 

As OCDSB schools are open Tuesday, students will have a regular dismissal at the end of the school day. Buses are operating and OSTA is reporting possible delays due to weather. Parents and guardians are asked to plan accordingly.

Extended day programs will remain open Tuesday as scheduled. Parents and guardians who are able to pick up children earlier are encouraged to do so.   

All community use permits, after-school programs, night school, and committee meetings are cancelled for Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, for post-secondary institutions, Queen's University students will have a shortened day at the Kingston campus while classes have been cancelled at uOttawa and Algonquin College. 

The snow storm is also causing flight cancellations at the Ottawa International Airport, mostly for flights headed to Toronto.
