Flurries and cold weather are being forecasted for the last weekend of March Break.

According to 1310 NEWS Meteorologist Jill Taylor, a small amount of snow is expected Saturday and cold temperatures return just in time for the kids to head back to class.

"Back to work, back to school early Monday and it'll feel more like -18," said 1310 NEWS Meteorologist Jill Taylor. "Not the best weather, not what you want to hear after a nice relaxing March Break perhaps, even if it was a stay vacation, but maybe particularly hard to take if you were in the sunny south."

With just over 24 cm of snow recorded in the capital so far this month, Taylor explained that winter isn't through with us just yet as we normally see about 38 cm of snow in March.

"So we do have some flurries for the weekend, yeah, not what you want to hear I guess," Taylor said. "Should not amount to much at least at this point, of course that could change. Some flurries Saturday morning and rather cool temperatures during the day Saturday the high plus 1, will feel more like -5."

But despite the cold and snow, spring will soon be here.

Spring officially arrives at 5:58 p.m. on March 20.
