One man charged in Pembroke drug bust

Officers confiscated firearms, a rocket launcher and other illegal devices. They also seized a large quantity of narcotics.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirm they've arrested a man following a large drug bust in Pembroke.

Members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Provincial Joint-Forces Cannabis Team and the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment and UOV OPP Crime Unit carried out multiple search warrants at a residence on Christie Street on November 14, 2019. 

As a result, they confiscated firearms, a rocket launcher, other illegal devices and seized a large quantity of narcotics. 

Randy Terris McLaughlin, 27, has been charged with: 

- Importing a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon, prohibited device or ammunition while knowing it is unauthorized
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon 

McLaughlin is currently in custody and scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on November 18. According to authorities, the investigation is currently ongoing with several other charges pending.
