The capital's basketball fans are staking out their spots to take in tonight's Game 5 in the NBA Final, and one local Raptors fan has made the trip to Toronto, to watch in the original Jurassic Park.
Christina Ganotakis is a longtime Raptors fan and spent Friday night watching Game 4 in downtown Toronto, after a 14-hour wait to get in to the original Jurassic Park outdoor viewing area.
"You made friends with pretty much everyone in the line around you, because it really was a group effort to get through it," said Ganotakis.
Ganotakis planned to take in Monday's game from another outdoor viewing party, in a Toronto suburb. She described the wait to get into Toronto's Jurassic Park as long, but worth it to get to experience the atmosphere.
"The crowd was electrifying," Ganotakis told Ottawa Today with Mark Sutcliffe on 1310 NEWS. "It was amazing to be a part of that, especially because I was eighth in line, so I was waiting a really, really long time."
For Raptors fans not making the trip to Toronto, countless bars across the city planned to show the game, indoors. Outdoor viewing parties were scheduled, weather-permitting, for establishments like the Cornerstone Bar & Grill in the ByWard Market, and Beyond the Pale on City Centre Avenue.
