Ottawa breaks October weather record

Thursday is also forecast to be fairly warm but then it's back to reality.

A new weather record was set in Ottawa on Wednesday. 

The mercury rose to 27.5 C at the Ottawa International Airport, smashing the previous record by close to four degrees. 

The previous record was 23.9 C, set on October 10, 1955. 

Thursday is forecast to be fairly warm but then it's back to reality. 

Friday's high is expected to be just 9 C.
