Ottawa fire crews tackling massive blaze at ByWard Market restaurant

Officials are asking all drivers and pedestrians to avoid William Street, between Dalhousie Street and Sussex Drive.

Ottawa firefighters are on the scene of a large blaze at 35 William Street in the Byward Market.

The incident was deemed a 2 alarm fire at 11:25 a.m., Friday. It was upgraded to a 4 alarm blaze at 1:06 p.m.

Officials say everyone made it out of the building safely.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area between Dalhousie Street and Sussex Drive.
