Ottawa Fire Services rescue person dangling from Somerset Bridge

The person was later safely removed from the bridge and placed into the care of police and paramedics.

Ottawa Fire rescued a person found dangling over the Corktown Footbridge in Somerset. 

Around 4:06 a.m. on Sunday, a call was received from the Ottawa Police to advise them of the incident. 

Water Rescue teams were on site and stationed on both sides of the canal in case the individual fell into the water. 

The Ottawa Fire Water Rescue team and the Rope Rescue/Technical team were able to safely remove the individual, who was then placed into the care of Ottawa Police and EMS.

No injuries have been reported.
