Ottawa police searching for syringe-wielding perfume thief in The Glebe

A security guard was threatened with a syringe when trying to arrest the suspect.

Ottawa police need help identifying a robbery suspect who allegedly threatened to stab a security guard with a syringe at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Bank Street in The Glebe.

Police say the man walked into the store around 9:15 p.m. on November 23, 2019, and started putting a number of perfumes in a backpack.

A security guard attempted to make an arrest as the suspect was leaving, but was threatened with a syringe.

There were no injuries reported. The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • 25 to 35 years old
  • Average build and weight
  • Medium length brown hair. 

He was wearing black pants with a key chain hanging from the pocket and a white and grey winter coat.
