Ottawa's community gardens opening for the season

The provincial government decided to allow community gardens to reopen after calls from concerned community members about food shortages.

Community gardens are opening in Ottawa.

Mayor Jim Watson was joined by 'Just Food's' Executive Director Moe Garahan and City Councillor Keith Egli at the Knox Church Community Garden in Nepean Friday morning to make the announcement.

The provincial government decided, at the end of April, to allow community gardens to reopen after calls from concerned community members about food shortages.

Gatherings of more than five people are still prohibited due to COVID-19.
