Two of the people killed in the Ethiopian Airlines crash who had ties to the capital will be remembered at separate events, to be held Saturday.

Stéphanie Lacroix was a UN agency worker, and was headed to an environmental conference in Kenya when her flight went down, last Sunday. She will be remembered in her hometown of Timmins. Another event is planned for the end of the month in Ottawa.

Saturday will also see a church service, in Ottawa, to remember and celebrate the life of Carleton professor Pius Adesanmi.

A total of 18 Canadians were killed when the Boeing 737 MAX 8 plane they were on board crashed, just minutes after taking off from the Ethiopian capital city of Addis Ababa.
