Residents can expect road closures in Ottawa's downtown core for Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend.
Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be shut down, between Laurier Avenue and Somerset Street, starting at 8 a.m. Friday, and will be in place until Sunday at 6 p.m. That includes Laurier Avenue east off ramp and controlled exit and access to National Arts Centre (specific exit and entrance requirements to and from Lawrence Frieman Drive post performance and delivery via the Laurier Avenue off ramp have been negotiated between ORW and the National Arts Centre).
This year's race weekend will welcome 31,000 participants in six races, including the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, 2K and kids marathon.
In 2018, runners raised $800,000 for local and national charities through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.
