The 2018 Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario is out, and is highlighting a number of capital region experiences.
According to the FEO, festivals and events of all kinds, from community festivals to internationally recognized events, were represented in submissions given last fall.
Those submissions were then looked over by an independent panel of judges.
Seven Ottawa region festivals have been awarded this year:
Canada Day Celebrations (Ottawa/Gatineau): Sunday, July 01, 2018
Canadian Tulip Festival: May 11-21, 2018
Capital Ukrainian Festival: July 20-22, 2018
Ottawa International Chamber Festival: July 26-Aug 8, 2018
RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest: July 5 - 15, 2018
TD Ottawa Jazz Festival: June 21-July 1, 2018
Winterlude (Ottawa/Gatineau): Feb. 1-18, 2019
Of those, the Canada Day Celebrations, the Ottawa International Chamber Festival, Bluesfest, the Ottawa Jazz Festival and Winterlude have all been named Festivals & Events of Distinction -- a select group which represent some of the most well-known and respected celebrations in the province, which draw both an international and domestic audience.
