Cyclist hit by bus on Mackenzie King Bridge and charged

According to Ottawa police, the cyclist was on the sidewalk when he veered onto a dedicated bus lane in front of an OC Transpo bus.

A collision between an OC Tranpso bus and a cyclist has resulted in charges against the cyclist.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday, on the Mackenzie King Bridge.

The Ottawa Police Service tells 1310 NEWS, the cyclist was on the sidewalk when he veered onto a dedicated bus lane, in front of an OC Transpo bus, and then he was hit.

A 57-year-old man has been charged with careless driving.

The man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
