Former Ottawa real estate lawyer facing fraud charges

Losses, attributed to 49 victims in this case, are believed to total over $1.5-million.

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged a former real estate lawyer with two counts of fraud following an investigation into the misappropriation of money from his law firm's trust account.

Members of the OPP's Anti-Rackets Branch arrested and charged Stuart Cameron Murray, 37, of Kitchener, on Sunday, May 5, with two counts of Fraud Over $5,000. 

He previously operated a practice named "Mullun Law," with office locations throughout Ontario; including in Kitchener, Ottawa, Toronto, Oakville, and Sudbury. 

Losses, attributed to 49 victims in this case, are believed to total over $1.5-million.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on June 12 to answer to the charges.
