More charges expected in Ottawa pot shop busts

Police have cracked down on four local shops, which were operating illegally, in the last few weeks.

The Ottawa Police Service has laid a combined 30 charges, after searching illicit cannabis stores on Churchill Avenue, Rideau Street, Merivale Road and Clarence Street.

In the Rideau Street and Churchill Avenue busts, three men and three woman face a total of 12 charges. Officers raided those shops on November 6.

The OPS reported the busts on Merivale Road and Clarence Street on Friday, November 16, and now say 18 charges are being laid in that case. Four men and two women are facing offences in that case.

Police said more charges are pending in the November 16 incidents.
