A 24-year-old man is facing seven criminal offences after one person was shot on Queen Mary Street, a couple of block east of Vanier Parkway.
The incident happened Thursday, November 8, at 4:04 p.m.
On scene, officers gathered information about people involved; suspect descriptions and vehicles.
One man was arrested a short distance from the shooting scene and remains in police custody for investigative purposes.
Following the incident, police learned that a man was dropped off at a local hospital, suffering from non life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Police were able to confirm that he had been involved in the shooting on Queen Mary Street. He was arrested in hospital and he remains there in stable condition.
Steve Percy, 24 years old of Ottawa, is charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a weapon
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
Percy is scheduled to be at show cause court by video Friday.
Central Criminal Investigation Unit continues to investigate. They are exploring the possibility that more people were involved.
