OPP investigating electrocution death in Russell

A 22-year-old was killed in an incident at a workplace on St. Andre Road.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer are looking into the death of a 22-year-old Russell man who died after being electrocuted.

Police were called to a workplace on St. Andre Road where the incident had taken place, around 4 p.m. on August 10.

CPR was administered to Michael Attfield, as Prescott-Russell Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded. 

Attfield was airlifted to hospital, where he was eventually pronounced dead. 

The OPP investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. 

The Ministry of Labour, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and Electricity Safety Authority have been notified.
