OPP looking to identify suspicious man and vehicle approaching children in Embrun

The suspect was driving a black car and dressed in a black tuxedo.

Ontario Provincial Police officers in Embrun are trying to track down a suspicious man in Embrun, who it says approached a child walking on St. Andre Road in Embrun, Ontario.

On Thursday, May 23, at around 5 p.m., OPP say the man, driving a black car, stopped and backed up to engage in a conversation with the child. The driver rolled down the passenger window and started asking personal questions in French, such as, "Where do you live?" and, "Do you want a ride?"

Investigators hope the public can help identify the suspect, and/or the vehicle.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian man
  • Pale complexion
  • Approximately 48 to 60 years old
  • French speaking with no accent
  • Brown eyes
  • Dark brown or black, short hair, done up in a cone-shape
  • Wearing a black tuxedo with a tie
  • Gold Rolex-style watch

The vehicle is described as:

  • Black car
  • Possibly a Chrysler 200
  • Lots of chrome trim
