Ottawa man arrested during break and enter in Little Italy

Officers caught a suspect hiding inside someone's basement on St. Anthony Street.

The Ottawa Police Service has arrested and charged a 35-year-old Ottawa man after being called to the Little Italy area for a break and enter in progress.

Officers showed up at a home on St. Anthony Street, just off Preston Street, at 3:45 a.m., Thursday, to find a man hiding in the basement of a residence. 

Police say the man would have had to force his way into the home. 

Michael Radford is charged with:

  • Break and enter and commit
  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Stolen property
  • Breach of recognizance

Radford will be in show cause court Thursday.
