The Gatineau Police Service is investigating an incident in which an Outaouais paramedic allegedly drugged some of his colleagues at a hotel party.

Chief of Operations with the Outaouais Paramedic Cooperative Marie-Ève D'Aoust has confirmed that the incident happened on November 16 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, and that the accused employee has been suspended.

There's no word on exactly how many people were drugged at the party, but D'Aoust did say "some" people got sick as a result.

A specialized firm has been hired by the paramedic service to conduct an internal investigation.

Meanwhile, Gatineau police continue to investigate the incident and are not releasing any further details at this time.
