Police charge two in Remembrance Day stabbing on OC Transpo bus

The pair are facing a handful of assault and weapon-related offences.

The Ottawa Police Service has laid charges against two people in a stabbing on an OC Transpo bus on Woodroffe Avenue at Medhurst Road.

The incident left one person with non-life-threatening injuries on Remembrance Day.

Joshua Newkirk-McCoy, 20, of Ottawa, has been charged with:

  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order 

He is scheduled to appear in court, Monday. 

A 16-year-old girl has also been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous    

She is scheduled to appear in court in December.
