Prince Edward man charged for erratic driving in Athol ward

The accused's vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result.

A man was arrested by Prince Edward County OPP for erratic driving near Sandbanks Provincial Park. 

According to OPP, they received a report of an erratic driver at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. 

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on County Road 24 in Athol ward.

After an investigation, OPP arrested the driver and was taken to the detachment for testing. 

James Holmes, 37, from Prince Edward, Ont. was charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired — blood alcohol level concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is schedule to appear in court at a later date in Picton. 

He was also given a 90 day license suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
