Police say 60-year-old found safe

Shawn Chappell's family had been concerned for his well being, as he requires medication.

UPDATE: Shawn Chappell has been located, safe and sound, according to Ottawa police.


The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public's help in finding Shawn Chappell, who was last seen around Bruyère Street. 

Police say the 60-year-old has been missing since Monday, May 13, and he requires medication. His family is concerned for his well being. 

Chappell is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 6' 2'' (188 cm)
  • 160 lbs (73 kg) 
  • Very slim build
  • Salt and pepper, thinning hair and a matching beard
  • Speech is considered to be slurred 
  • Last seen wearing a red jacket with white and black stripes down the arms and dark pants
  • Uses a black walker

Anyone with information about the current whereabouts of Chappell is asked to call the Ottawa Police at 613-236-1222.
