Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against any officer in relation to serious injuries sustained by the driver of a pick-up truck which rolled on Highway 15.

Officers with the Smiths Falls Police Service and with the Ontario Provincial Police Rideau Lakes detachment responded to an 'unknown trouble' call at a home in the Township of Rideau Lakes back on August 27, around 10:30 p.m.

The SIU says three separate police pursuits with a pickup truck, connected to the residence, were initiated and then terminated.

At approximately 11:10 p.m., the driver of the pickup truck was involved in a single vehicle collision.

The Director of the SIU, Tony Loparco, presided over the matter.
