Two charged for attempted car theft in Blossom Park

The pair attempted to steal a high-end SUV.

A man and a woman were arrested for trying to steal a high-end SUV in the laneway of a residence in the city’s south end.

The incident happened Sunday at about 6:15 a.m. on Stedman Street near Albion Road and Lester Road The pair was interrupted during the theft by the homeowner and fled the scene in another vehicle.

Frontline officers caught up with the two and engaged in a short pursuit, which was soon called off for public safety reasons.

About an hour later, the OPP found the same suspect vehicle that had just been involved in a collision in Limoges.

They were arrested and transported to Ottawa Police.

Shainna Faustin, 27, from Montreal was charged with:

  • Attempt to commit an indictable offence
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Breach of Undertaking
  • Breach of Recognizance  x2
  • Breach of Probation

Moise Dorvilier, 21 years old of Montreal was charged with:

  • Attempt to commit an indictable offence
  • Possession of break in instruments

Dorvilier was released on an undertaking and Faustin was held for show cause.

Police continue to investigate and say there may be more charges coming.
