Young person offered car ride by suspicious man in Embrun

OPP are now trying to track down the suspect.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Embrun are hoping residents can help to identify a suspicious man, who allegedly asked a young person to get into his car recently.

OPP received a complaint about the man on November 6, just after 3 p.m. The unknown motorist stopped on Notre-Dame Street to offer to give a young person a ride. 

The driver is described as:

  • White man
  • In his 50's
  • Skinny
  • Grey/white hair
  • Wearing a long sleeve white and blue dress shirt
  • Speaking fluent English

His vehicle is described as:

  • Clean
  • Dark red
  • Four-door hatchback
  • Similar to a Hyundai Elantra
  • 2016 or older
  • Ontario plates with licence beginning with "B"

Police encourage parents to discuss and review "stranger danger" tips with their children. 

Anyone aware of the suspect's identity, of anyone who has further information about this incident, is asked to contact the Russell County OPP at 613-443-4499 or OPP Communication Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
